Iloilo’s Dinagyang festival is one of the most awaited events here in the Philippines. The last time I was there to attend Dinagyang was January 2011 and I can’t wait to go back there again to watch and experience the festival. Dinagyang festival is celebrated every 4th Sunday of January in Iloilo City. I had to make an early bookings for my flight from Manila to Iloilo City and back and my hotel accommodations for more cheaper expenses, because when you book you flights and hotel accommodations days before the festival, chances are you’ll get expensive flights and ran out of cheap...

Cavite is situated at the south west of Manila and one of the nearest out-of-town place to do Visita Iglesia. I’m very fond of visiting old churches during Holy Week, and it has been a habit of mine to first go to these churches prior to Bisita Iglesia with my family so I can plan the road routes and not waste time on Holy Thursday. Tips for this Cavite Visita Iglesia itinerary You have to be at the first church by 6AM if you plan to visit all twelve churches. Bring drinks and snacks for the trip, an icebox cooler would be great. Plan and choose the churches to visit ahead of time. Gas up to a...

If you are planning for a visita Iglesia in Pampanga, maybe this is an ideal route of some famous old churches to be visited. One thing we’ve noticed on Pampanga’s famous old churches is, majority of them does not have the NHI (National Historical Institute) marker or metal thing displayed at the front or entrance of the church Preparation: Make sure you got an ice chest filled with bottled water and sodas along when you travel. Oh yes! bring chips too! because travelling Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEX) is kinda borring thou there are lots of gasoline stations for stop overs, but when you...

Last November, my brother who works in Doha asked me to plan something for his vacation here in Manila. He wanted something that our whole family will enjoy as well. His vacation will fall on All Soul’s and All Saint’s Day (it’s a long weekend, so it was a perfect time for everyone). I suggested to him a place near Manila, which is the Heritage Town of Taal, Batangas. I know he’ll love it there because of the old houses and structures, which is something he likes. In my research for things to do in Taal, I stumbled upon this information about Villa Tortuga. It is a package that includes a walk and...
